It’s been a while since I last posted an update, but it doesn’t mean I haven’t been busy. In my last post I mentioned that I had accepted a position at Sweetwater Sound. I’ve been here in Fort Wayne since May, and it’s been nothing short of a roller coaster ride. In that time, I’ve managed to tackle a few projects here and there.
I’ve completed my EP project with “Them Apples”. Together we cut 5 songs, they are:
Monkey On Your Back
I don’t know when this project will see the light of day, but hopefully soon. Perhaps I’ll post a track here soon to give you a sneak preview. I’m very proud of this project. In the meantime, I’m mixing a song as we speak for Nigel Moore’s latest solo project, a tune called “Feeling The Weight Of Our Love”. It’s a track he recorded at home and sent to me for mixing, and it sounds really great. I don’t know when this will be put out either, but I’ll post a link when it is.
For all intents and purposes, the “What?” album is completed. That is, it’s mixed and mastered, with the exception of 1 song. The one song is simply missing a vocal, but once it’s finished it will be completed and hopefully see the light of day very soon. We’re having trouble deciding on one of the songs for the album, and there may be a few B-sides sprinkled here and there as well. We’ll see what develops.
My latest project with Rachel Brashear “Beast” was released on Halloween of 2014. We cut the track back in April and it saw the light of day as a digital single. It was originally supposed to be part of a larger project, but it’s taken a different turn and she’s working on it right now. You can listen (and purchase) “Beast” on her Bandcamp page.
In the meantime, I do have a couple of NEW projects on the horizon, but since they’re in early stages I don’t want to give too many details out. They will come in due time, and I’ll do my best not to let so much time go in between blog posts. I’ve also been going back to old sessions that were never finished and completing work on those. Perhaps a few of those will see the light of day as well. Until next time…….
