Summit City Brass will be making their live debut headlining at The Phoenix on November 7. This show will start at 9:30pm and go till Midnight. To celebrate this event, we’re having a special “preview” performance at Sweetwater. It will take place on the Crescendo Stage at 6:30pm on November 2. We’ve been working very hard on this project since March of this year, and over the summer we recorded a few songs at BlueTune. You can check out a sample of those songs and what we sound like below. You can also visit the website www.summitcitybrass.com. The site itself is currently in development, so right now it just takes you to the Facebook page. If you’re in Fort Wayne come check us out! There will be a great Cajun buffet along with creole drink specials.
I regret to say that “What?” has been in a bit of a coma for the past year, but I’m happy to say that’s it’s slowly starting to come out. There are many reasons for this, but I won’t bore you with details. What I will say is that new plans are being made, the first of which is to get our long delayed first record finished. I’m putting the final tweaks in the mixes right now and getting it ready to be sent off for mastering. The beast is awake!
Back in 2007, my good friend Ryan Kirk and I recorded and released a Christmas single, which we simply titled “Christmas Medley”. It was a medley of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman” and “Carol Of The Bells”. It was one of the most fun sessions I’ve ever done, and ever since I’ve been looking for an excuse to “revamp” the song and take it to the next level. I finally got around to it a few months ago and it sounds better than ever. At the time there were certain limitations we had that no longer constrain us, and it’s nice to finally see this track to its full potential. A release date for this will be announced shortly.
